Local LAN splitscreen play is also not available. For instance, if you had 2 Xboxs in your house and 8 friends that wanted to play (4 on each), you wouldn't be able to. I cant see how Activision will allow this to slide... I foresee a patch. Not being able to join other systems while in local splitscreen is by far and away the thing that people are complaining about the most.

Moxyi: Yes, you are correct. If you are in anything other than single screen mode, you cannot be on Xbox live. Pretty lame. But honestly, I wouldn't let that stop you from buying the game. Its a poor design decision, but the game is still very fun none-the-less. Compared to other games, it far exceeds them in gameplay and realism. Just invite your friends over to your house and play 4 player local splitscreen. Most of the maps are small enough that 4 people is enough. Do remember, that the game of the year a couple years ago (Call Of Duty 2) also did not have this capability, but it was still extremely fun.

PS- 9 maps is enough... you need to learn your way around those before they let you have 7 more.

There is definitely room for another 300x250 Google ad in this post...

I still need to buy this game, but Moxyi's comment makes me rethink it since I typically like playing games with others.

They probably see it as a way to bolster sales. Like in Multi-play PC games where some games support 1 cd for 2-3 players, and some only support 1 player per cd. I'd assume the thought process behind this is to bolster sales by forcing multiple purchases for households. But in this case, it would require you to have 2 xbox accounts in a household, or to assume that your friend didn't buy it.

I can see the argument for that... But as a consumer myself, I will not buy into such a gimmick. And as a lover of XBOX Live, will not purchase this game if it does not support myself and a friend.

Can I assume that 2 Xbox Live enabled accounts are not supported on 1 xbox split screen live? If that is true, most of my friends will probably also not purchase.

Yea, no local split screen and xbox live at the same time (Call of Duty 2 also didn't have this). I cant believe Inifinity Ward hasn't figured this out yet, or why they chose not to implement it.

There is no option to sign in with a "Guest," and play in a Halo 3 "social-esque" game type?

Well, that makes this a no purchase for me..... And i was very excited for this game....
